The Black Student Leader's Association is a University of Ottawa based organization founded in 2011 with the mission to assist with the academic, social and philanthropic aspects of a Black student’s journey. We promote community building and inclusive dialogue. BSLA creates a safe space for Black, African & Caribbean students at uOttawa and in the region at large. We aim to enhance the university experience for all of our members and create networks that last beyond their time here.
EDUCATE. EMPOWER. ENGAGE.
BSLA facilitates various events and bi-weekly discussions (now virtually) to educate, engage and empower Black students. We also collaborate with various university and community organizations across Canada to encourage allyship and mobilization of BIPOC Folx. We provide various resources and methods of advocacy to combat anti-black racism on and off campus.
